The Syrian Future Movement follows with great appreciation and interest the announcement by the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF), in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent and the Quneitra Governorate, of a mechanism to establish mobile and continuous medical camps aimed at providing healthcare to residents of the governorate’s villages and towns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During a meeting held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, between a UNDOF delegation, the Director of the Northern Area, Mohammed Al-Saeed, and the Head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch in Quneitra, Dr. Rabie Othman, an agreement was reached to establish the first medical camp in the municipality of Umm Batna on July 22.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement welcomes this initiative, which comes at a time when Quneitra Governorate is suffering from a severe shortage of healthcare services as a result of years of occupation, destruction, and forced displacement. We highly appreciate the explanation provided by the Northern Region Director, Muhammad al-Saeed, that the camp aims to provide medical consultations to residents through UNDOF doctors, in addition to dispensing medications through the Syrian Arab Red Crescent. We see this tripartite cooperation as a model of humanitarian partnership that transcends political differences and prioritizes the well-being of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement indicates that the mobile clinics will be ongoing and mobile, targeting a new municipality or village within the governorate every two weeks, in coordination with the Quneitra Governorate, to reach the largest possible number of residents. We commend this approach, which helps overcome the obstacles of distance and transportation difficulties, and provides healthcare services to those who desperately need them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement also recalls that Quneitra Governorate was among the areas most affected by the policies of the former regime and the Israeli occupation. The health infrastructure was completely destroyed, most villages and towns were depopulated, and many families continue to suffer from a severe lack of basic services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
