We believe that this decision, which follows the announcement of the commencement of public trials last April, represents a qualitative leap forward in the transitional justice process and answers long-awaited demands from victims and their families in various Syrian regions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement commends this decision, which ensures that transitional justice will not be limited to Damascus, but will extend to all Syrian governorates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We recall that one of the most significant challenges to transitional justice was the difficulty for victims from remote areas to access the courts in the capital, which prolonged their suffering and hindered the achievement of justice. This geographical expansion also represents a practical response to the demands of residents in the provinces, and a reaffirmation that justice is a right for all, not a privilege reserved for those residing in Damascus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, the allocation of these chambers contributes to building trust between citizens and state institutions, demonstrates the state’s seriousness in addressing past crimes, and reinforces the feeling that the new Syria is capable of holding accountable all those involved in violations against the Syrian people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
