The Syrian Future Movement follows with great interest and appreciation the announcement made by the Idlib Governorate on Saturday, June 20, 2026, regarding the reopening of 50 schools that had been renovated and rehabilitated in various areas of the governorate. This initiative was supported by the “Loyalty to Idlib” campaign, under the supervision of the Directorate of Education, and in the presence of the Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Raed al-Saleh, and the Governor of Idlib, Muhammad Abdul Rahman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The city of Kafranbel hosted the central event, which began at the “Dhi Qar” school, a school with a 60-year history of service, before its doors were closed for several years due to the practices of the ousted regime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement commends this significant step in the education sector, considering it an embodiment of the “New Syria” vision, which prioritizes rebuilding people before infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement also highly values \u200b\u200bthe efforts exerted by the “Loyalty to Idlib” campaign, in cooperation with official bodies and civil society, to achieve this accomplishment, which will provide a safe and stable learning environment for approximately 40,000 students. While we commend this step, we recall that education was one of the most prominent victims of the policies of the former regime, which transformed schools into military barracks and torture centers, depriving millions of Syrian children of their fundamental right to education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We believe that the reopening of these schools today, foremost among them the historic Dhi Qar School, is a message of hope that the new Syria is restoring education as a cornerstone of the country’s revival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement points to the developmental and social dimensions of this step, which extend beyond the educational aspect to include strengthening stability and facilitating the return of displaced persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We note that the rehabilitation of these schools comes within the broader context of reconstruction efforts in Idlib Governorate, which has witnessed the activation of 21 health centers, the removal of more than one million cubic meters of rubble, and the widening of main roads.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We also see these integrated efforts as a model of comprehensive development aimed at improving the quality of life, encouraging the return of displaced persons, and building trust between citizens and the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It is worth mentioning here that Idlib was “a microcosm of Syria from which liberation began,” and that the success of its reconstruction is a true test of the state’s ability to fulfill its promises to all Syrians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its unwavering support for developing the education sector and improving its infrastructure, as published on its official website.
