The Syrian Future Movement follows with deep sorrow and anguish the story of Hayam al-Aryan, known as “Umm Hamza,” who appealed to President Ahmad al-Sharaa through social media and protest vigils to intervene for the release of her two sons, Hamza (19 years old) and Ali (18 years old) al-Kuma, who were arrested on February 16, 2026, following a violent raid on the family home in the town of Ghadeer al-Bustan in the Quneitra countryside. The family is enduring unbearable suffering, and her anguished maternal voice has resonated with every Syrian, embodying the tragedy of more than 46 Syrian families still awaiting news of their sons detained by the Israeli occupation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement strongly condemns the arrests and enforced disappearances perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against Syrian civilians in southern Syria and holds them fully responsible for the safety of the abductees. These operations have violated all international norms and laws, as the occupying forces are practicing a policy of complete secrecy, detainees are denied contact with their families, and all attempts to ascertain their fate are rejected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement condemns these crimes, which amount to war crimes, and holds the occupying forces fully responsible for the lives and safety of all Syrian detainees, especially Hamza and Ali al-Kouma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
