This step comes at a time when Syria is facing a severe health crisis resulting from the exodus of medical personnel that plagued the health sector during decades of the former regime’s rule. The Syrian Future Movement notes that this memorandum comes at a time when Syria is facing a severe shortage of medical personnel, resulting from a widespread exodus of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers who have emigrated due to the economic collapse, low wages, and the security crackdowns carried out by the former regime against doctors who provided medical care to civilians or expressed dissenting political views.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We believe this brain drain has had disastrous consequences for the health sector.
