In Rwanda, after the 1994 genocide, the choice was not to fuel hatred but to build bridges of national reconciliation. In South Africa, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was a unique model of tolerance and coexistence after years of apartheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Transitional Justice and Establishing the Rule of Law:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, achieving transitional justice in a way that satisfies the Syrian people and fulfills their aspirations is the most important step to turning the page on a past filled with pain and violations. It is the essential condition for building a future Syria based on justice and equality. This justice must be comprehensive and equitable, taking into account the suffering of all those affected without discrimination, and ensuring that those responsible for crimes and violations are held accountable in a transparent and impartial manner, while focusing on strengthening national reconciliation and establishing a culture of tolerance. Therefore, building a just legal and institutional system, capable of restoring trust between citizens and the state, will represent an inspiring beginning for a new Syria, where everyone can participate in shaping a future of peace, stability, and human dignity. Society cannot progress unless its members realize that peaceful coexistence and joint action are not merely options, but existential necessities for achieving any real advancement. This philosophy, which calls for a profound awareness of the need to transcend divisions and focus on what unites us as human beings, also compels us to look consciously at Syria’s future, free from the influence of biased media that seeks to sow discord among the components of our unified people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Danger of Biased Media and its Role in Fueling Strife:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As happened in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the wars that tore the country apart in the 1990s, where media outlets were used as effective tools to incite sectarian and ethnic conflicts, we must recognize the sensitive and dangerous role that media can play in shaping public opinion and directing collective emotions. During that period, media messages were systematically employed to spread hatred and incite violence among various segments of society, leading to an escalation of tensions and the destabilization of the social and political landscape. Today, with the tremendous advancements in media and technology, the media landscape has become far more complex and rapidly expanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governmental Responsibility: Ensuring a Decent Life and Supporting Production:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Syrian people, who have long suffered the ravages of war, urgently need government decisions that prioritize their interests. State policies must be geared towards securing the basic necessities of life for citizens, from providing food, water, and medicine to enhancing opportunities for education, healthcare, and employment. The war has left profound scars on the infrastructure and the national economy. Therefore, the government has a responsibility to work diligently to alleviate the suffering of the people and help them rebuild their lives. The government must also work to ease the burden on the people by reducing the prices of essential commodities such as electricity, fuel, and cooking gas, and providing them with the necessary support, while avoiding the extravagant displays of wealth by officials, which are highly sensitive given the abject poverty endured by the majority of the population. Agriculture and farmers must be supported by purchasing agricultural crops at competitive prices to encourage them to continue working and producing. This will contribute to achieving food security and revitalizing the rural economy, thus strengthening Syria’s ability to recover and rise again. True peace and stability will only be achieved when Syrian citizens feel that their state is working for them, not against them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focus on productive work and draw inspiration from successful experiences:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact that we focus on productive work is the true foundation for change. Look at Germany after World War II; how the Germans shifted their attention from the painful past to reconstruction and economic revival. Instead of searching for the shortcomings of others, we should direct our energies toward education, as Finland did, becoming a global educational model; toward health, as Cuba did, developing an advanced healthcare system despite the embargo; and toward the economy, as Singapore did, transforming from a developing country into one of the world’s wealthiest nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tolerance: A civilizational necessity to overcome wounds:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tolerance is not merely a slogan or a superficial idea; it is a civilizational necessity dictated by the experiences of other nations. Japan and South Korea are prime examples of how to overcome historical animosity and achieve economic cooperation despite past wounds. This is because a conscious and educated individual doesn’t dwell on petty issues that disrupt society, but rather works to build bridges of communication and understanding between different social groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Beginning of the Journey: Investing in Development and Infrastructure:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fall of the Assad regime is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a long journey toward building a new Syria based on solid foundations of coexistence and joint action. This is what Southeast Asian countries did after their long wars. Therefore, today we must invest in human development and infrastructure. We must recognize that the true strength of any society lies in its ability to overcome divisions and work together toward common goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Vision for the Future of Syria: Building People Before Building Stones:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Syria we dream of is one where work and production are the primary focus, where national reconciliation and social fraternity are fundamental, where the emphasis is on building people before building structures, and a Syria that draws inspiration from the experiences of other nations to build a unique model of coexistence and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A practical approach to solving everyday problems:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fact is, we must realize that societies do not progress through empty slogans or fiery speeches, but rather through a practical approach to solving the real problems people face in their daily lives, such as education, health, the economy, and infrastructure. This is the approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The things we must focus on. When every citizen feels they are part of a genuine nation-building process, and that their efforts are bearing fruit in improving their life and the lives of their families, only then can we speak of a truly robust society built on solid foundations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Joint Action: A Fundamental Condition for Development and Progress:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We must understand that joint action is not merely a moral choice, but a practical necessity for achieving any real progress. When we look at countries that have achieved genuine developmental successes, we find that they have always relied on cooperation among the various components of society, and on focusing on shared goals rather than being preoccupied with peripheral disputes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Message for the Future: A Historical Responsibility and Nation-Building:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the message we must carry with us into the future: a message of joint action, a message of focusing on what unites us rather than what divides us, a message of building a new Syria based on solid foundations of understanding and cooperation.
