The Syrian Future Movement follows with great interest and pride the conference organized by the Syrian Network in Denmark (SND) on Saturday, May 30, 2026, in Copenhagen, under the title “From Dialogue to Action: Syrians in Denmark Working Together.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the new Syria takes its first steps toward reconstruction and revival, this conference serves as a commendable model for transforming the energies of the diaspora from mere individual presence into an active collective force, capable of supporting their homeland and overcoming the constraints of nostalgia for the past and the responsibilities of the present.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement commends this significant initiative and appreciates the efforts exerted by the Syrian community in Denmark to translate it into tangible reality. The Movement also highly values \u200b\u200bthe shift in the community’s discourse from mere “dialogue” about challenges to organized, practical “action,” through unifying the efforts of Syrian initiatives and associations operating in Denmark and strengthening coordination among them to support Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We remind you that the Syrian community in Denmark numbers around 45,000 people, representing a tremendous human resource of energy and expertise. The time has come to transform this potential from the burden of displacement into an opportunity for development, and this conference embodies this long-awaited shift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement highlights the strategic importance of the conference, which, held under the theme “From Dialogue to Action,” saw the distinguished participation of representatives from Syrian and Danish organizations and initiatives, as well as a number of activists, including Adrian Buri from the Danish Refugee Council (DRC). Discussions focused on:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The conference also included social events and a celebration of Eid al-Adha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We believe these points reflect a progressive vision and a genuine understanding that the role of expatriates extends beyond supporting their compatriots in their adopted countries; it encompasses actively contributing to the rebuilding of their homeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its unwavering support for empowering Syrian communities abroad and organizing their efforts, positions published on its official website, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n The Syrian Future Movement stresses that the success of this path requires governmental support and sustained effort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As discussed at the conference, transferring expertise gained in Denmark to Syria requires practical coordination with relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations, and the establishment of clear and systematic mechanisms for receiving this expertise and transforming it into tangible training programs and development projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this context, the Syrian Future Movement notes the increasing participation in the Danish government-supported voluntary return programs. Figures show that 413 people returned during the first nine months of 2026, compared to only 94 during the entire year of 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Undoubtedly, the success of integration or return processes is closely linked to the level of organization and communication between communities and institutions in both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Based on its national responsibility to support every effort to build a new Syria, the Syrian Future Movement recommends the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Utilizing the conference outcomes in vital development sectors, focusing efforts on transferring expertise and modern technologies in education (curricula, training), technology (digital transformation, cybersecurity), and healthcare (hospital management, home care)\u2014areas in which the Syrian community in Denmark has demonstrated leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Syrian Future Movement reiterates its welcome of this pioneering national initiative, which reflects a shift in the discourse and practices of Syrian communities abroad, moving from passivity and inaction to active contribution. We believe the Syrian government is called upon today to adopt and support these initiatives, and to remove all obstacles preventing expatriate expertise from returning to the homeland.
