The Syrian Future Movement joins the international community in celebrating International Day of the Midwife, observed annually on May 5th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this occasion, we honor the fundamental pillar of the human right to life and safe childbirth, and we remember the heroic role of Syrian midwives who have continued their work under the most exceptional circumstances our country is experiencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement recalls the reports issued by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the World Health Organization, which confirm that investment in midwifery can prevent approximately 67% of maternal deaths and 64% of neonatal deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
