Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management, Mr. Raed Al-Saleh, announced that this system aims to develop the country’s early warning system by standardizing warning formats nationwide and expediting the delivery of warning messages through various channels, including communication channels, media platforms, and digital applications, to support operations rooms in making effective decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Syria also discussed with Spain opportunities for cooperation in disaster management to benefit from Spanish expertise in developing early warning systems and protecting historical cities. An agreement was also signed with Germany to enhance cooperation in disaster protection, including the provision of technical support and equipment for emergency teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement appreciates this progressive step in building an integrated national system for disaster management and risk reduction. It considers the activation of the CAP system a qualitative leap in strengthening Syria’s capabilities for anticipation and preparedness, and a shift from an emergency response approach to a proactive planning approach based on early warning.
