In light of the delicate circumstances Syria is experiencing during its sensitive transitional phase, as we all strive to build a stable and unified state that guarantees the rights of all and strengthens civil peace, we in the Syrian Future Movement regret having to comment on the terrorist attack that occurred on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the Imam Ali bin Abi Talib Mosque in the Wadi al-Dahab neighborhood of Homs. This treacherous attack, claimed by a group known as “Saraya Ansar al-Sunna,” resulted in the martyrdom of at least eight people and the injury of more than twenty others. The attack involved the detonation of explosive devices inside the mosque during Friday prayers in an area with an Alawite majority, indicating a clear attempt to incite sectarian strife and undermine national efforts to build a shared future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We in the Syrian Future Movement view with great positivity the official Syrian positions that strongly condemned this terrorist act and affirmed their commitment to pursuing the perpetrators and strengthening national unity. We also appreciate the widespread Arab and international condemnations, including those issued by brotherly Arab states such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan, and Qatar, as well as the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Arab League, in addition to the condemnation by the Secretary-General of the United Nations. These stances reflect international solidarity with our people in the face of terrorism and support the transitional efforts toward stability and peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that such bombings cannot be considered mere individual or random acts, but rather may be calculated intelligence messages aimed at obstructing the political transition process. In this context, we believe that the “Saraya Ansar al-Sunna” faction may be an intelligence arm backed by entities or countries that have been negatively impacted by the fall of the defunct Assad regime, seeking to reinstate chaos and ignite internal conflicts to preserve their narrow interests, whether regional or international. We believe that these acts remind us of the need to be wary of external exploitation of internal contradictions and call upon us to strengthen national awareness to confront any attempts to divide the Syrian people along sectarian or ethnic lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement calls upon all Syrian parties\u2014politicians, activists, and citizens\u2014to strengthen national unity as a top priority for the success of the transitional phase and to end all forms of extremism and terrorism by reinforcing the rule of law and constitutional institutions. We must also focus on building a shared future based on national reconciliation, protecting Syria’s diversity as a strength, not a weakness, and rejecting any external interference aimed at perpetuating conflicts. We in the Syrian Future Movement believe that the new Syria will be strong to the extent that it is united, and it will overcome these challenges with wisdom and patience, moving towards a better tomorrow that guarantees dignity and freedom for all its citizens.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
