The Syrian Future Movement joins the world today in commemorating the International Day of Care and Support, established by the United Nations General Assembly in 2023. October 29th was designated as an annual occasion to recognize the value of care and support in the lives of individuals and communities, and the humanitarian and social role played by caregivers in building social cohesion and sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Syrian Future Movement believes that this day carries, at its core, a profound ethical message calling for the restoration of value to care work, whether paid or unpaid, individual or institutional, and for appreciation of those who shoulder this responsibility within the family and society, both women and men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is also a call to states and societies to develop just policies that protect caregivers and guarantee them dignity and equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Syrian Future Movement believes that in Syria, where war has burdened families and weakened social and economic structures, the need to solidify the values \u200b\u200bof mutual care and community solidarity is paramount as a foundation for building national trust and restoring social cohesion. Care, as an act of charity, is a cornerstone of social justice and a necessary prerequisite for sustainable peace and responsible citizenship that restores the Syrian people’s dignity and worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On this occasion, the Syrian Future Movement calls for:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Elevating the value of care and support in future national policies, as an integral part of the project for social justice and human development in the new Syria.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Empowering women and caregivers economically and socially through plans that guarantee their protection from marginalization and exploitation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Encouraging grassroots and civil initiatives that rebuild community bonds and support groups affected by the war, within a comprehensive national framework free from political and sectarian alignments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Integrating the concept of a \u201ccare economy\u201d into reconstruction visions, ensuring that Syrian development is fundamentally humane, based on people, not just infrastructure.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The Syrian Future Movement, while saluting all those working in the fields of care and support inside and outside Syria, sees this day as an opportunity to renew the belief that national renaissance begins with the individual who cares and is cared for, and with a society that leaves no one behind.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
