On this day, which marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the United Nations Charter in 1945, the Syrian Future Movement recalls the profound values \u200b\u200bupon which the international organization was founded: peace, justice, human dignity, and the right of peoples to self-determination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The United Nations was established after a devastating world war to prevent the recurrence of tragedies and establish an international order based on law, not force, and on cooperation, not exclusion. Today, after the greatest tragedy for Syrians\u2014the collapse of Bashar al-Assad’s regime\u2014has ended, the principles of the UN Charter seem more urgent than ever, as our people continue to live with the consequences of war, displacement, and division, in a near-total absence of accountability and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the new Syria’s integration into the UN system will not be achieved through formal representation, but rather by reviving the spirit of the UN Charter within the structure of the future Syrian state through a state of law, justice, and institutions, not the authority of individuals and agencies.
A state that respects human rights and believes in equal citizenship without discrimination.
A country that cooperates with the international community in combating poverty, protecting the environment, and supporting development, not exporting crises or conflict.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On this International Day, the Syrian Future Movement affirms that the Syrian people are not a burden on the world, but rather a partner in its reconstruction. The path to peace in Syria is also a path toward restoring trust among nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the United Nations to renew its commitment to its moral and humanitarian responsibility toward the Syrian people by supporting a genuine political process, ensuring the safe return of displaced persons, and holding criminals accountable, in order to achieve justice and sustainable peace.
