Given the challenges facing the educational process in the Jazira region of Syria, and in light of recent developments related to attempts to impose unofficial curricula on schools affiliated with Christian denominations, the Future Movement declares its full solidarity with the position of the Syriac Orthodox Diocese of Jazira and Euphrates and affirms its unwavering support for the right of educational institutions to adopt the official national curriculum issued by the Syrian Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that education is not merely a process of indoctrination; rather, it is a fundamental pillar in building national identity, ensuring societal unity, and consolidating the values \u200b\u200bof citizenship and belonging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From this standpoint, imposing curricula that are not legally or educationally recognized poses a direct threat to the future of students, exposes educational institutions to the risk of losing their legitimacy, and undermines the foundations of peaceful coexistence among the components of Syrian society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the schools affiliated with the diocese, some of which date back more than a century, have proven to be exemplary national institutions, serving all citizens, including Arabs, Kurds, Assyrians, Yazidis, and others, without discrimination or exclusion.
Attempts to impose limited educational options without official authorization from the Ministry of Education represent a flagrant violation of students’ right to a recognized education and open the door to cognitive and societal isolation that serves no one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Future Movement views the Archdiocese’s position as a national model to be emulated and appreciates its adherence to the unified Syrian curriculum, which is the sole guarantor of the continuity of the educational process and the recognition of degrees locally and internationally. It affirms that any attempt to impose alternative curricula outside the framework of the Syrian state is an irresponsible step that contradicts the principle of the unity of national institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement also condemns the measures that have affected students, including expulsion and suspension from school, and calls on the relevant authorities to return to serious and responsible dialogue, free from political dictates, ensuring the resumption of education according to the official curriculum and under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, to preserve the future of students and the unity of the social fabric in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Future Movement believes that Syria’s unity can only be achieved through the unity of its institutions, especially the educational institution, and that respecting the will of local communities to preserve their educational identity is an integral part of the comprehensive national project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
