Every year, on October 2nd, the world celebrates the International Day of Non-Violence, commemorating the birth of the spiritual leader Mahatma Gandhi, whose thought and actions embodied the philosophy of peaceful resistance and moral justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement views this day as a global call to restore the values \u200b\u200bof dialogue, tolerance, and respect for humanity in the face of violence in all its forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As we, the Syrian Future Movement, commemorate this occasion, we affirm that the new Syria we are fighting for can only be built on the foundations of peace, justice, and equal citizenship. Syrians have paid a heavy price as a result of the systematic violence caused by the policies of the former regime, including destruction, marginalization, and bloodshed. We believe that consolidating a culture of non-violence is the cornerstone of any comprehensive national project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that the importance of this day in the Syrian context lies in its opportunity to rethink the tools of political and social change, away from weapons and infighting. It also opens the door to building a comprehensive national discourse that recognizes differences, believes in dialogue, and strengthens the role of civil society in spreading the culture of peace and nonviolence in schools, the media, and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement calls on all national, political, and civil forces to adopt the approach of nonviolence as a strategic, not tactical, option in building the Syria of the future. We also urge the integration of the values \u200b\u200bof tolerance, dialogue, and respect for others into educational curricula, media discourse, and public policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
