The Syrian Future Movement is closely following the political and administrative developments in the liberated areas, most notably the statement made by Mr. Tariq al-Kurdi on September 14, 2025, regarding the postponement of the People’s Assembly elections. This was due to the large popular turnout to register to participate in the electoral process, exceeding the ability of the subcommittees to process applications in a timely manner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement views this event as a very important positive indicator, reflecting a qualitative shift in the popular mood toward political action. It affirms that the Syrian people, despite years of suffering and marginalization, have come to realize that they have an effective role to play in shaping the transitional phase and defining the contours of the national future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that this popular turnout, which led to a technical postponement of the election date, should not be interpreted as an obstacle, but rather as evidence of the vitality of Syrian society and its willingness to participate in building representative institutions that reflect its aspirations. This places a double responsibility on the political forces to ensure the integrity of the electoral process, expand the scope of representation, and enhance trust between citizens and institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement affirms that the transitional phase will only gain legitimacy through broad popular participation, and that any political process that does not stem from the will and aspirations of the people will remain incomplete and threatened with failure. Accordingly, we consider this popular movement a step in the right direction and call for its transformation into a sustainable path of civil and political engagement, which will consolidate the culture of citizenship and strengthen society’s resilience against marginalization or tyranny.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
