The Syrian Future Movement commemorates International Literacy Day, established by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on September 8, 1966, as a global occasion aimed at promoting education and combating illiteracy as a fundamental pillar of human development and cultural progress. This day represents an international call to renew the commitment to empowering individuals by equipping them with reading and writing skills, which are a basic human right and a necessity for achieving social justice and equality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria, which has suffered for years from the ravages of conflict, has severely impacted the education sector, leading to significant challenges in providing education for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the Syrian Future Movement sees the post-liberation period as a historic opportunity to rebuild a comprehensive education system. We commit to launching intensive literacy programs in Syria, targeting the most marginalized groups, especially women and children in rural areas and displaced persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, we call for the rehabilitation of damaged educational infrastructure and the provision of training courses and non-formal education to address disguised illiteracy. We draw inspiration from our previous experience in supporting education in liberated areas, where the Syrian Future Movement has made significant efforts by establishing Tawad Learning Schools for students who have dropped out of school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In light of global digital transformations, the Syrian Future Movement affirms its commitment to integrating modern technology and artificial intelligence into literacy efforts. We also call for the development of advanced digital educational platforms that utilize AI technologies to provide personalized educational content tailored to the needs of each learner, along with distance learning programs to reach remote areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes the need to eradicate digital illiteracy to enable Syrians to use technological tools to access global knowledge, drawing on successful global experiences in using technology to educate marginalized groups. We view artificial intelligence as a tool to enhance human creativity and empower individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
