The Syrian Future Movement is following with great concern the recent developments in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights. According to media reports, a group of Israeli settlers, affiliated with the “Rowwad Habashan” movement, are attempting to establish a new settlement outpost, called “Neve Habashan,” inside Syrian territory, toward the village of Breika in Quneitra Governorate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement considers this provocative move, which included crossing the border fence, planting trees, and raising Israeli flags, a blatant violation of Syrian sovereignty and international law, including UN Security Council Resolution 497 of 1981, which declares Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights null and void, and Resolution 242 of 1967, which calls for Israel’s withdrawal from the occupied territories. It also reflects an extremist expansionist ideology based on religious narratives promoting the idea of “Greater Israel,” threatening regional stability and hindering efforts to build a new Syria in the post-conflict phase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement affirms full Syrian sovereignty over the Golan Heights and rejects any attempts to change the demographic or geographic reality in the occupied territories.
We strongly condemn this attempt and call on the Israeli government to stop supporting such extremist movements. We demand that the international community, especially the United Nations and major powers, intervene immediately to prevent the recurrence of such violations and ensure respect for international borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Syrian Future Movement believes that Syria, in its transitional phase toward stability and peace, needs international support to restore its occupied territories through dialogue and negotiation, not through illegal settlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Therefore, we support the negotiation process undertaken by the Syrian transitional government and emphasize the need for transparency and openness in these negotiations.
