On October 29, 1923, the establishment of the modern Turkish Republic was declared, adopting a democratic republican system for governance. Subsequently, Mustafa Kemal Atat\u00fcrk was elected President of the state by the members of the People’s Assembly in Ankara. In turn, Atat\u00fcrk appointed \u0130smet \u0130n\u00f6n\u00fc as Prime Minister, thereby establishing the first Turkish government on October 30, 1923.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
