Therefore, it is replicating the \u201cscorched earth\u201d scenario in the Homs countryside to gain ground, linking cities together\u2014connecting Talkalakh to Al-Qusayr through Wadi Khaled\u2014and thereby securing a geographic area that aids the regime\u2019s army in establishing camps as a preliminary phase, linked to Hezbollah\u2019s supply line in Lebanon. The city of Talkalakh is less than 10 kilometers from the Lebanese border, enabling the regime to advance toward recapturing Homs city once
