{"id":22117,"date":"2013-03-22T17:41:00","date_gmt":"2013-03-22T14:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sfuturem.org\/?p=22117"},"modified":"2025-09-22T18:46:41","modified_gmt":"2025-09-22T15:46:41","slug":"the-killing-of-dr-al-bouti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sfuturem.org\/en\/2013\/03\/the-killing-of-dr-al-bouti\/","title":{"rendered":"The Killing of Dr. Al-Bouti"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Syrian Future Movement views the bombing that killed Sheikh Al-Bouti Al-Kurdi in the following points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Politically: This is an attempt by the Syrian regime to exploit the Kurdish card in Syria, especially after:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The appointment of a Kurdish prime minister for the Syrian opposition government.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The liberation of most of the northern Syrian territories, which include the vast majority of our Kurdish people.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Abdullah \u00d6calan&#8217;s message to the Kurdistan Workers&#8217; Party (PKK) to stop military operations in Turkey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Religiously: This is an attempt to pressure the remaining scholars inside Syria by:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Sending a message to everyone that their lives are in the regime&#8217;s hands, even inside houses of worship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Isolating people from mosques (within the capital) by spreading the idea that they are no longer safe for worship.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gaining the regime&#8217;s trust from some people, particularly in the capital, by portraying Islamists as violent and intent on killing anyone who does not support our revolution.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The Syrian Future Movement condemns the killing\u2014any killing\u2014of human life.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Understanding the political and religious implications of Dr. Al-Bouti&#8217;s assassination and its impact on the situation in Syria.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":35,"featured_media":22115,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[179],"tags":[4706],"class_list":["post-22117","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-political-office-en","tag-press-release"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v26.9 (Yoast SEO v26.9) -
