Condemnation of the National Army’s Arrest of Ahmad Al-Jallal
The Syrian Future Movement condemns the arrest of calligrapher, caricaturist, and peaceful activist Ahmad Khalil Al-Jallal by the Military Police affiliated with the Syrian National Army in Aleppo. The Future Movement considers the arrest of one of the sons of the Syrian revolution from the city of Kafr Nabl, who resides in the city of Azaz, on the 21st of this month, after raiding his workplace at the Free Aleppo University, as a negative and condemnable act. The Syrian Future Movement deems the accusation against Ahmad Al-Jallal of sheltering a civilian in his home with the intention of heading to the Syrian-Turkish border to cross into Turkey unofficially as a false and illegitimate charge, not amounting to a crime that justifies arrest. The Syrian Future Movement calls for holding accountable those responsible for his arrest, especially without judicial authorization, which could prevent cases of irresponsibility and lack of discipline in the future. The Syrian Future Movement considers the besieging of revolutionaries and activists a revolutionary crime that must be stopped in all liberated areas.
