On the necessity of arresting intelligence officers and holding them accountable
The Syrian Future Movement reveals to the Syrian public information about a secret agreement that entails a form of understanding to grant senior intelligence officers of the defunct Assad regime the assurance of safe exit from Syria.
The Syrian Future Movement condemns and rejects the current state of leniency in arresting symbols of corruption and oppression, as well as the tools of decades-long killings. It calls on all Syrian forces to prioritize and highlight this issue, considering it a poisoned dagger in the side of the revolution and a hindrance to Syria’s security and societal stability.
The Syrian Future Movement demands the arrest of senior officers and war criminals, their prosecution, and the documentation of violations across all sectors. It opposes any acts of personal revenge outside the framework of the law, while also rejecting the smuggling of regime figures, officers, and beneficiaries out of Syria via land, air, or sea borders. It holds those involved in this phase accountable for their role in either accelerating, delaying, or undermining the process of apprehending them and placing them in secure prisons to ensure their safety until they are tried publicly before the afflicted Syrian people.
The Syrian Future Movement warns of the dangers posed by these criminals and their affiliates remaining outside the bounds of justice. It emphasizes the knowledge of their capacity to regroup, incite disturbances, and conduct assassinations of Syrian figures within the country, thereby threatening the desired stability and security in Syria.
The Syrian Future Movement warns of the ability of these symbols of evil and the pillars of the machinery of killing and oppression to reorganize terrorist groups like ISIS and similar organizations. It highlights the risk of their exploiting their scattered elements across the country to carry out operations that disrupt security, undermine stability, and open the door to unknown scenarios.
The Syrian Future Movement considers the continued freedom of the leaders of the five security branches, who serve as the executive arms of Bashar al-Assad and his brother Maher, as a crucial link between them and their surrounding circles.
The Syrian Future Movement calls for the immediate announcement of a list (to be updated continuously) of war criminals in Syria. This list should include the leadership of the five main security branches: the Political Security Branch, the Military Security Branch, the Air Force Intelligence, the National Security Bureau (formerly known as General Security), and General Intelligence, along with their subordinate branches. Additionally, it should cover the commanders of the Republican Guard, the Fourth Division, and the army’s hierarchy.
The Syrian Future Movement urges attention and action to dismantle and contain their strongholds in the Mazzeh 86 and Esh al-Warwar neighborhoods of Damascus.
