Syrian Future Movement and Political Change
“Political change, along with reform in social, educational, scientific, economic, administrative, planning, occupational, mobilization, military, and judicial sectors,” is a principal objective and a foremost aim for the Syrian Future Movement (SFM).
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) insists that a meaningful life is unattainable amidst the political tyranny that has loomed over the Syrian landscape for decades, now blatantly apparent to its supporters before its adversaries. This is true regardless of the ideological masks it wears or the nationalistic cloaks it hides behind.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) views itself and many Syrians as a continuation of an experience predating the revolution, wherein we participated in the political scene alongside the despotic Syrian regime, under the illusion of mitigating harm and reducing evil, and attempting to offer what is useful and beneficial, even minimally. When the Syrian revolution began in 2011, the popular momentum and Syrian blood necessitated alignment where due, then striving with all active and influential political forces to eradicate tyranny and end the reign of corruption, through comprehensive political change.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) does not view itself as hostile towards individuals and parties outright, regardless of who they might be. We have directed our compass to rejecting tyranny in all its forms, names, and manifestations, as well as abhorring bloodshed.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) does not believe in political change originating from the outside, regardless of the circumstances, considering true change to be that which stems from within and permeates the Syrian essence everywhere.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) believes that political change means decisively overthrowing the Assad regime, followed by the implementation of a comprehensive reform package.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) insists on peaceful change as the most enduring and least costly method, finding justification for any form and circumstance that necessitates speeding up the process of political change domestically, through the data and developments within the vision of the nation’s children.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) sees the current Syrian reality in its entirety as in need of radical change, founded on planning and documentation, with national partnership in implementation being fundamental, along with the necessity of evaluating each step towards the desired change.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) is dissatisfied with the current state of Syria and seeks not to digest or adapt to it but aims to change reality through the peaceful means available, with caution and preparedness for any other scenario that might be imposed on our people and country.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) believes that the role of civil society is to establish and support reforms, which we strive for and work on by involving all Syrians with whom we agree, aiming to achieve political change.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) sees the success of political change through overall transformations in political structures and the nature of political thought in managing the entire political process, then the positive interaction between all political forces, aiming to influence power centers and authority, to redistribute it within the state.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) adopts the democratic path as a means to change the current image of tyranny, seeking to empower and solidify this path in Syria as the possible alternative to despotism.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) initiates political change by transitioning society, through its will, from its current social state to a more evolved and mature one, while preserving constants and considering the era.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) believes that the path to the desired political change is long and requires the concerted efforts of most national political elites and forces, to first build a shared vision among them, then outline its broad strokes, and subsequently supervise it, with the necessity of the public’s participation and full engagement, making them digest and support the political change project as their national platform.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) considers political change the beginning of a new phase, not the end of the journey, and sees maintaining the continuity of political change and nurturing its development as a new responsibility that must not be overlooked.
The Syrian Future Movement looks at the array of historical experiences and the essence of human effort to benefit from them in shaping the concept of political change in its authentic Syrian version, and in creating its own experience to become a future model worthy of being remembered and associated with.
