On this day in 2013: Nineteen Palestinian organizations operating in Europe issued an urgent appeal calling for the rescue of thousands of Palestinian refugees in the Yarmouk camp. They urged the opening of a safe humanitarian corridor to facilitate the passage of people and essential supplies, following a siege that had lasted for more than ninety days.
