The Syrian family after liberation: Toward building a new society based on freedom and equality

As Syria approaches the post-liberation phase, there is a need to reconsider the structure of the family and its role in achieving positive change. This is because the Syrian family will play a crucial role in promoting the values of freedom and equality, and establishing the concept of justice between generations.

Introduction:

As Syria approaches the post-liberation phase, there is a need to reconsider the structure of the family and its role in achieving positive change. This is because the Syrian family will play a crucial role in promoting the values of freedom and equality, and establishing the concept of justice between generations.

Women, children and adolescents are pivotal elements in this change, as each of them carries the energy and ability to contribute to building a bright future. In this critical phase, the Syrian family becomes a center of social and economic empowerment, and a gateway to creating a new society based on mutual respect and human dignity.

The role of the family in building a society based on freedom and equality:

The Syrian family is a fundamental unit in building society and has a pivotal role in achieving comprehensive development and social progress. The family is the first environment in which individuals learn basic values and principles that contribute to building a society based on freedom and equality.

The family can develop in children the concept of freedom, including freedom of expression, freedom of thought and freedom of choice, as well as promote the value of equality between genders and between individuals from different social and cultural backgrounds.

Since education is the basis for achieving freedom and equality in society, the Syrian family plays an important role in supporting education and encouraging children to learn and acquire knowledge by providing an encouraging and stimulating environment for learning. The family can also help realize the ambitions of individuals and develop their skills and abilities, thus contributing to building a society based on freedom and equality.

The Syrian family also promotes religious and cultural values that encourage respect, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. By passing on these values to new generations, the family can contribute to building a society that respects cultural and religious diversity and promotes a spirit of solidarity and cooperation among its members.

Also, the Syrian family plays an important role in economic development by supporting their children in achieving financial independence and developing their economic skills. By teaching children the value of hard work, diligence and innovation, the family can contribute to achieving economic development and building a society based on freedom and equality.

It also encourages the Syrian family to actively participate in community and political life by motivating individuals to participate in community and voluntary activities and contribute to public decision-making, which contributes to strengthening the role of citizens in building a democratic society that enjoys freedom and equality.

We at the Family Affairs Office have provided support for this approach in a previous article entitled: “The Syrian Family Between Tradition and Modernity.” We believe that the Syrian family can play a pivotal role in building a society based on freedom and equality, by focusing on education, promoting religious and cultural values, economic development and community participation, and that the family can contribute significantly to achieving these noble goals.

Empowering Syrian women: A key pillar in the next phase

We have submitted several articles regarding Syrian women and their empowerment, including “Economic Empowerment of Syrian Women” and “Empowering Women in Northern Syria: Strategies to Enhance Their Civic Role”.

Syrian women are an integral part of Syrian society and have a pivotal role in building the future. In the coming phase, the empowerment of Syrian women must be one of the main pillars to achieve sustainable development and socio-economic prosperity.

Education is one of the most important factors for women’s empowerment, so equal educational opportunities must be provided for women and girls at all levels of education, from basic education to higher education, and by empowering women in the field of education, employment opportunities can be improved, economic participation can be increased, and the role of women in decision-making can be strengthened.

Syrian women play a significant role in the economy, and it is important to provide a favorable work environment that allows women to actively participate in the labor market. Women’s labor rights must be promoted and equal pay and fair treatment must be ensured. Training and qualification programs should be provided to help women develop their skills and increase their chances of finding suitable jobs.

It is essential to promote women’s participation in political life and enable them to reach leadership positions in government and public institutions. This can be achieved by strengthening women’s quotas in legislative councils and providing support and training for women who wish to participate in politics.

Women’s active political participation contributes to achieving gender balance and promoting policies that support women’s rights.

Women have a pivotal role in promoting moral and social values in Syrian society by actively participating in community and volunteer activities, which contributes to strengthening social cohesion and solidarity among community members, and can serve as a role model for new generations in the field of leadership and responsibility.

A new vision for the future of Syrian children after liberation:

After years of conflict and suffering, liberation comes as an opportunity to build a bright future for Syrian children, as children represent hope and the future, and investing in their development and well-being is an investment in the future of Syria, so we must develop a comprehensive vision that guarantees them equal opportunities to grow, learn and prosper in a stable and safe society.

For example, education is the foundation of any prosperous society, and access to quality education should be a guaranteed right for every Syrian child. The government and educational institutions should work to rebuild and rehabilitate schools and provide a safe and supportive learning environment, so the focus should be on modernizing educational curricula to promote critical thinking, creativity, and life skills.

Good health is an essential pillar of children’s growth and development, so there is a great need to provide free and comprehensive health care services for children, including preventive and curative care. In addition, psychosocial support must be provided to children who have suffered psychological trauma as a result of the conflict, through specialized programs that promote their recovery and integration into society. It is essential to ensure that children receive healthy and balanced nutrition, through school feeding programs and educating parents on the importance of proper nutrition, as good nutrition contributes to the growth of children and improves their academic and health performance.

Children should live in a safe and stable environment that provides them with support and protection, by strengthening the role of the family and community in providing care and protection for children, through awareness and training programs.

It is important that children have the right to express and participate in making decisions that affect their lives. Children should be encouraged to participate in community and volunteer activities and develop their leadership and social skills.

Conclusion:

In conclusion, it can be said that the family has a pivotal role in social change and sustainable development, through raising children on moral values, supporting education, health promotion, community participation, and environmental sustainability, all of which allow the family to contribute significantly to building a bright and sustainable future.

After liberation, the Syrian family bears a great responsibility in building a new society based on freedom and equality by focusing on proper education, education and social support, and Syrian families can contribute to raising a generation capable of facing challenges and achieving progress.

However, the role of the family is not only limited to meeting basic needs, but extends to promoting human values and principles that form the basis of a cohesive and balanced society, with a commitment to freedom, equality and collective action, we at the Family Affairs Office of Syrian Future Movement believe that the Syrian family can be the driving force behind positive change and sustainable construction of a better future.
