The Syrian Future Movement underscores the necessity of managing the humanitarian file in accordance with the principles of national sovereignty and transparency.
While the Syrian Future Movement values the three proposals outlined in the group’s statement—focused on developing national humanitarian and developmental policies, creating comprehensive response plans aligned with governmental goals, and enhancing partnerships between the government and international and local entities—it also adds its recommendation to activate national democratic processes, uphold human rights principles, and ensure the separation and independence of powers.
The Syrian Future Movement appreciates the group’s call for establishing a national body to coordinate humanitarian efforts, which would lead the humanitarian and developmental response with the participation of all stakeholders.
The Syrian Future Movement considers drawing lessons from successful global experiences a wise approach. Therefore, the movement advocates not only learning from Ukraine’s experience in accelerating humanitarian response efforts but also from all experiences similar to the Syrian case, particularly South Africa’s experience.
The Syrian Future Movement stresses the importance of directing efforts to support the local economy and enhance self-sufficiency, as recommended by the group. Additionally, the movement proposes prioritizing national strategic reconstruction efforts over the next decade.
The Syrian Future Movement underscores the group’s call to focus on national interests and avoid concessions or granting privileges that may compromise sovereignty or accountability.
The Syrian Future Movement, while appreciating the statement of the Strategic Group of Independent Syrian Experts, emphasizes the necessity of activating a technocratic system, prioritizing specialists, and establishing an expertise-based approach to appointments, rather than one driven by loyalty or partisanship. We view this as a sound and practical path toward building a strong and new state.
