On the issuance of a circular by the Syrian Interim Government bearing its seal and signature.
The Syrian Future Movement condemns the issuance of Circular No. 6, dated 2024-12-24, by the Syrian Interim Government in northern Syria, designating the Christmas holiday. We view this as an absolute overreach of the powers of the caretaker (central) government in Damascus, which remains the sole authority since the fall of the Assad regime and Syria’s return to freedom.
The Syrian Future Movement warns against the projects of parties whose gains are threatened by Syria’s transition to this new phase. We denounce the continued activity of institutions operating under the name of the former Syrian opposition and their issuance of decisions and circulars independent of the central government, as this implicitly signals a refusal to integrate into the new phase of rebuilding Syria alongside the broader population.
The Syrian Future Movement considers the caretaker government in Damascus to be the sole representative of all Syrians, encompassing the spectrum of the opposition and various revolutionary factions. Consequently, any government or institution acting outside the will and mandate of the people is an adversary to the progress achieved and must be contained and restricted through all peaceful and civil means. However, the right to oppose or critique the caretaker government must be exercised outside the framework of the former Syrian opposition institutions.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on the caretaker government in Damascus to announce the dissolution and transfer of all institutions affiliated with revolutionary and opposition forces (pre-liberation) to the central government in Damascus. It also calls for all parties to accept the convening of an inclusive national conference to establish a legitimate, permanent Syrian government.
The Syrian Future Movement regards the continued issuance of decisions and circulars by the Syrian Interim Government in northern Syria, stamped with its seal and name, as a clear message rejecting the central caretaker government in Damascus and the path to building the new state.
The Syrian Future Movement demands that Mr. Abdulrahman Mustafa place himself at the disposal of the Prime Minister of the caretaker government in Damascus, cease issuing decisions that disrupt the public atmosphere and divert the national course, and suspend all activities of his interim government for the sake of national safety and stability.
The Syrian Future Movement urges all revolutionaries, opposition members, and ministers allied with the Syrian Interim Government to take steps befitting the current phase. We warn the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces and the Syrian Interim Government against dividing the ranks and undermining the path to building the new Syrian state.
The Syrian Future Movement calls on all revolutionary and opposition forces, as well as political parties and movements, to clearly state their position on this matter.
