On following up on the cases of detainees released from Syrian regime prisons

The Syrian Future Movement emphasizes, in light of the difficult circumstances experienced by prisoners released from the prisons of the defunct Syrian regime, the importance and necessity of addressing their psychological and social conditions to ensure their proper reintegration into society through comprehensive and sustainable support.

The Syrian Future Movement calls for the establishment of a dedicated administration to oversee the affairs of released detainees, working in coordination with civil society organizations and relevant government agencies. This administration should provide psychological and social support, offer vocational training and rehabilitation opportunities, and facilitate access to healthcare and education services.

The Syrian Future Movement views the issue of released detainees as a national priority. Their rehabilitation and reintegration into society should be a fundamental component of building a new Syria founded on justice and equality.

The Syrian Future Movement urges Syrian doctors worldwide, as well as medical professionals who are friends of the Syrian people, to launch a global program offering medical and psychological support consultations for released detainees, both in-person and online.

The Syrian Future Movement recommends the establishment of specialized programs for psychological rehabilitation to help the freed detainees cope with the traumas they have experienced. These programs should include both individual and group therapy sessions.

The Syrian Future Movement stresses the need for legal services to assist the freed detainees in reclaiming their civil and economic rights, ensuring they are not subjected to any discrimination or violations after their release. It also supports their efforts to hold accountable all those responsible for their detention and suffering.

The Syrian Future Movement encourages local communities to participate in supporting released detainees through awareness campaigns and volunteer programs aimed at fostering understanding and solidarity, especially with liberated women.

The Syrian Future Movement announces its intention to hold a virtual meeting via the Zoom platform for all our friends, including Syrian and non-Syrian psychological specialists, to launch a comprehensive national project for re-empowering released detainees from the prisons of the defunct regime and reintegrating them into Syrian society.
