Regarding the Rejection of Military Strikes on Syria Under the Title “Punitive Strike”
Syrian Future Movement…
From the early days of the Syrian revolution, we called for a military strike to break Assad’s back and assist the revolutionaries on the ground to move swiftly toward the capital, Damascus.
Syrian Future Movement…
We believe that this punitive strike does not serve the revolution or fulfill the hopes of the revolutionaries; rather, it benefits the Ba’ath Party and prolongs Bashar’s regime. What kind of punitive strike are they talking about after hundreds of thousands of pure martyrs? What kind of punitive strike are they discussing after millions have been displaced by Bashar’s tyranny? What kind of punitive strike are they referring to after thousands of the free are imprisoned? This punitive strike would turn the seasoned criminal into a national hero in the eyes of his supporters, allies, and thugs, making him a man of achieving the impossible in legendary resilience against the internal revolution and external alliances. Moreover, it might lead coalition countries with the regime to supply him with advanced weapons that he could only dream of possessing without this punitive strike.
Syrian Future Movement…
We reject directing this kind of strikes, which have not brought down the regime when they could have, and will only result in civilian martyrs among the people.
ٍSyrian Future Movement…
We call for a military strike aimed at (overthrowing the Assad regime and dismantling its rule) and establishing a post-Assad phase.
Syrian Future Movement…
We hold the regime primarily responsible, the National Coalition secondarily, and the coalition countries thirdly, for the fall of civilians from our nation’s sons during this military strike.
