Regarding the Arrest of Bishops Paul Yazigi and John Ibrahim
Syrian Future Movement
The Syrian Future Movement has taken it upon itself to be the voice of all the people, representing the diverse spectrum of Syrian society. In light of this, we view the arrest of Bishop Paul Yazigi—Metropolitan of Aleppo, Alexandretta, and Dependencies for the Greek Orthodox—and Bishop John Ibrahim—Metropolitan of Aleppo for the Syriac Orthodox—((regardless of who kidnapped and detained them)) as a violation of the most basic human right to live in peace and freedom.
Syrian Future Movement
We declare our clear and explicit stance of respecting all divine religions, honoring their followers, and affirming their right to live peacefully and securely on Syrian soil, especially those who have not taken up arms against us or violated our sanctities.
Syrian Future Movement
We call for the immediate and unconditional release of the two esteemed bishops and urge vigilance against the dangerous game of inciting religious or sectarian strife under the guise of minority-majority dynamics in Syria, particularly during this critical and sensitive phase.
