Condemnation of the Assault on a Syrian Child in Turkey
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) condemns in the strongest terms the assault on a Syrian child (a mobile vendor on the Yenikapi-Haci Osman metro line in Istanbul), who was slapped and beaten by a racist Turkish man.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) considers racism to be the disease of the modern era in general, and one of the most destructive afflictions within the Republic of Turkey in particular. It views racism as a cause of irresponsible reactions with unpredictable consequences, especially when such incidents spread on social media and in the media.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) calls for sounding the alarm on the pandemic of racism, particularly in Turkey and Lebanon, where Syrian refugees are enduring some of the most challenging and difficult conditions.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) regards the scourge of racism as a threat to those countries and their people, above all else, unless its roots are addressed, and effective tools are sought to suppress and contain it.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) emphasizes the need to protect Syrian refugees, especially children, in all host countries from all forms and manifestations of racism.
The Syrian Future Movement (SFM) extends its gratitude to the Turkish Minister of Justice, Mr. Yılmaz Tunç, and the Public Prosecutor in Istanbul, who have taken a clear stand against this painful and serious incident. We call for the racist Turkish man to be held accountable and made an example of to curb racism and protect the reputation and standing of the Republic of Turkey.
