Podcast of SFM (25): The Political System of the State from the SFM’s Perspective (1)
- Our primary goal is to establish the pillars
and foundations of the “state” through the
free selection of ofcials, their accountability,
the independence of the judiciary, and the
separation of powers. We strive for the state
to act as an agent for the people, not a
substitute, and to be responsible for public
services and infrastructure. - The presidency should be a role that allows
the president, whoever they may be, to
govern the state rather than control it, and to
serve the people rather than treating them as
servants. It is a temporary delegation and
authorization from the people, nothing more. - We believe the presidential term should be
limited to 5 years, renewable only once. The
powers of the president must be clearly and
precisely defined and limited. - The modern Syrian problem lies in the lack
of constraints and limitations on the
president’s authority, which has caused
instability up to the present day.
